It’s happening: from letters in the mail to a brand-new logo, twenty one pilots are officially teasing the next chapter of the band…
It appears that twenty-one pilots are ready to formally begin their new chapter as a band as May marks Scaled And Icy’s third anniversary!
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, the duo from Columbus, appear to be getting ready for album number seven in a characteristically mysterious and distinctive manner. Over the past few days, they have been teasing fans with real-life letters and billboards, as well as a new digital hint by updating their album artwork on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and other platforms with strips of red tape covering all the eyes on each cover.
Check out some of these new teasers below:
Speaking to Kerrang! around the release of Scaled And Icy, Tyler said that he’d already gotten to work on more new twenty one pilots stuff since finishing up that record.
“Usually when we’re done working on a record I feel completely burnt out; I’ve put everything into it that I have, and I’m done with writing, done with music, for however long,” he described. “And on this one, for some reason – maybe it’s because I know that we’re not going to go out and play shows [due to the pandemic] – after finishing it, I didn’t feel that same burnt-out feeling. And I’ve actually continued to create, even after. I’m still writing and excited about music. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing… hopefully it’s just a good thing!”
